After 4 long months, the nhl is back! All teams start with a record of 0-0-0 with legitimate hopes to win the cup... At least, that's how habs fans think.
Lets all meet at 2pm for our regular game with nhl action on the telly afterwards. We might have to move an unmentionable structure so the more the merrier.

It was much closer than the score indicates but Canada bested the US for the 3rd year in a row. Good thing this was over in 4 games. We would have needed stretchers otherwise.
The MVP (Koh Smythe) goes to Scott Macquarie. Well deserved. His superscuzz point shot mystified the US goaltenders.

The 3rd annual Canada v. USA game is coming up this Saturday 6/27. This year, the event begins at noon with a somewhat serious best of 7 series pitting players USA against Canada and culminating at Petos (corner of Linden and 81st) for bbq and beers. BBQ is family friendly, so bring your lil' ones.
To keep the game flowing, we had to limit roster size this year (although if you'r… Continue

On my bike ride yesterday, I stumbled upon this place in Discovery park. 2 basically abandoned tennis courts. Dimensions were about 100x50, 8 feet fence on 1 side and court nets on the other. 0 setup time. Food for thought. Could try it once this… Continue

Anybody pick up my stick on Saturday? Blue Easton shaft with new lefty gray Forsberg blade. Would like to avoid dropping another $50 on a stick. Add a line in comments if you have it.

I'm back in action this week. I'll prolly be slow as molasse so that's your chance to undress me on a breakaway. It even looks like the weather will finally break. (Partly sunny is the forecast, whatever that means)
Drop a comment if you'll be joining so we can gauge turnout. Goalies? Continue

We're holding an earlier scrimmage for the Vegas tournament team (next week!) but most of us will still be there to play at the 2pm game so come on by. We're still fundraising so bring cash or click on the donate button on the ssh homepage.
Anybody clear the board gear bucket mystery? It wasn't in it's usual place so we had to improvise a set up but it reappeared in the bed of a red pickup truck parked at Greenwood. Red pickup owner, who are you?

Well played games in unseasonably warm weather last week. Special thanks to Dan and Sharif for double shifting in net.
The Vegas tournament team (Seattle Tsunami) will have a scrimmage earlier this week but many will stick around for the regular 2pm game so come join us at 2. The good news is that the boards will already be up!
We'll be raising funds for upgrades/repairs of equipment so bring some cash (suggested donation 20$). That includes you Koh.

I'm out of town but I'm told we're having serious snow in Seattle. Anybody will be making it to the game this week?
Let's have a roll call. Drop a line in the comments whether you're in or not. I'll be there if enough people commit to showing up.
BTW, our new post game drink up spot is Bleachers. Unbelievable HD big projection screen, cheap booze and no attitude. Continue

Saturday forecast is for cold and even a low probability of snow! Snow games are fun. Reminds me of the Quebec days playing outside -30C weather.
For after game chaos you already know about the 12 pubs of Christmas. We'll also celebrate the 40th revolution around the sun of our own Chucky T. If you can see past his questionable taste in music and his lack of passing, you'll find a great guy!

$272 is how much we've raised for the ssh general fund! Thanks everyone who contributed! For everyone else who hasn't yet, feel free to chip in anytime now. One click on the donate button, enter your cc, and you'll feel much better.
First thing on the shopping list are orange balls. I'll go buy a bunch so we should be set for a little while.
Next, I'm thinking of buying a storage box for fence, goalie gear, sticks etc. We could leave it between the portables where we currently put the n… Continue

Good games on Thanksgiving Thursday despite the early hour. Game 2 of the doubleheader is this Saturday. Let's try to set up at Greenwood school. 1:30pm meet at school to build the rink, 2pm play. Forecast is for dry weather so come out to burn the Turkey feast and shake off the tryptofan.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the ssh general fund last week. The kitty currently sits at $145 (plus 2 argentinian Peso, thx to Chuck). We need a some more to buy a Goalie gear set and some playing balls. Click on the donate button or bring money at the game. The fundraising goal is $500. Very doable if everyone chips in.

We avoided rain most of the day and got great games in last Saturday. Sharif, what happened? No show? We had to unretire Kreptul and put him in net. He did awesome but the thin gear earned him a few good bruises.
Who's in goal this week?
We need some fresh cash for new goalie gear. Suggested donation $20. Donate here on the site or at the game Saturday.
