Seattle Street Hockey

On my bike ride yesterday, I stumbled upon this place in Discovery park. 2 basically abandoned tennis courts. Dimensions were about 100x50, 8 feet fence on 1 side and court nets on the other. 0 setup time. Food for thought. Could try it once this summer. Any taker? Would need truck to carry nets, gear etc...

I like it. I did a look at the Seattle school system and here are some other ideas:

1.McDonald (Seattle emergency site). F. A. McDonald, 144 N 54th Street, Closed, not surplus, not being leased. Ideal location, ground needs some work, good size surface, neighbor problems likely. Visited.

2. Viewlands (maintained for future use) 10525 3rd Avenue NW, Closed, not surplus, not being leased. Not Visited.

3. Webster -30th Avenue NW and NW 67th Street, rented to the Nordic Heritage Museum through 2014. Not Visited.

I'd be up to give some of these a try.

Vinny - for the courts at discovery park, wouldn't we need the boards around the net for the corners?
